Section 01 · Findings

Six of the 27, across six rule families

Every finding follows the same shape: what your page says, why it is a problem, the article of EU law behind it, and replacement wording you can paste straight in.

F-01

Severity 4 of 5Green claims
100% eco-friendly. Climate neutral shipping on every order.

Generic environmental claims need substantiation the visitor can check, and this page offers none. The carbon neutrality wording is also a claim of the type restricted from 27 September 2026, when Directive (EU) 2024/825 starts applying to what shops publish.

Dir (EU) 2024/825, Annex I

Drafted fix

State the specific, verifiable fact instead: “Shipped in 100% recycled cardboard. See our emissions statement for shipping figures.”

F-02

Severity 4 of 5Returns wording
All sales are final. No returns accepted.

Consumers buying at a distance have a 14 day right of withdrawal, with narrow exceptions. A blanket no-returns line misstates that right, and getting the withdrawal information wrong can extend the window by twelve months.

CRD (Dir 2011/83), Art. 9-10

Drafted fix

Replace with: “You can return your order within 14 days of delivery. See our returns page for how.”

F-03

Severity 3 of 5Urgency counters
Only 2 left! 14 people are watching this item right now.

Urgency and scarcity statements must be true and verifiable. Fabricated stock levels or viewer counts qualify as a misleading commercial practice, however common they are in shop themes.

UCPD (Dir 2005/29), Art. 6-7

Drafted fix

Show real stock from your inventory system, or remove the counter entirely.

F-04

Severity 4 of 5Cookies and consent

Marketing and analytics trackers load before the visitor makes any choice in the cookie banner.

Non essential cookies and trackers need consent before they are set. A banner that loads them anyway, or offers no real way to refuse, does not change that. This comes from the live cookie audit, not from the page text.

ePrivacy (Dir 2002/58), Art. 5(3)

Drafted fix

Hold every non essential tag until the visitor consents, and give refusing the same weight as accepting.

F-05

Severity 4 of 5Reviews
4.9 stars from 2 431 verified customer reviews.

Calling reviews verified means reasonable steps were taken to check they come from people who actually bought the product. Without such steps, the label is on the list of banned practices.

UCPD (Dir 2005/29), Annex I

Drafted fix

Only label reviews as verified once a purchase check runs, and explain how you verify on the reviews page.

F-06

Severity 3 of 5Trader identity

No trader name, address or email reachable from the storefront footer.

Shops must keep the trader identity and contact details directly and permanently accessible. A contact form alone is not enough; visitors and authorities must be able to see who is selling.

eCommerce (Dir 2000/31), Art. 5

Drafted fix

Add an imprint with the legal entity, address, email and VAT number, linked from every page footer.

Section 02 · Gap analysis

The pages your shop must have

Beyond the claims, the audit checks that every required page and notice is in place, and lists the ones that are missing.

Section 03 · Cookie and vendor audit

What loads before consent

The audit opens your shop in a real browser, reads the live cookie banner and records which vendors fire before anyone has agreed to anything.

12 cookies set on the homepage, 4 of them before any consent

3 marketing vendor types and 1 session replay tool detected

Banner offers accept only, with no equivalent way to refuse
